    NetApp/NAS/SAS and PURE Storage Engineer. VMWare, Active Directory, Dell Blade Servers. Tier III support.


    Title of Position: Systems Administrator/Engineer Level 2 - Storage


    Description of Position:

    • Provides onsite consulting and subject matter expertise for enterprise-level Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN) and PURE systems supporting multiple programs.
    • Integrates and tests VMware ESX storage solutions using NetApp storage systems including data de-duplication and disk backups essential to critical services during a catastrophic event.
    • Deploy system hardware and software complied with secure configuration requirements based on Information Systems Security Best Practices for vulnerability mitigation and in support of the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process.
    • Assist with project planning; ensured schedule milestones were met; managing funding and budgets, resources and personnel assignments; and presented deliverables to the government leadership team.
    • Researches emerging storage technologies and associated hardware / software products and provides recommendations to senior managers to help meet current and future mission requirements and resolve customer deficiencies.
    • Responsible for all aspects of Windows 2008-2013 Active Directory and server administration for three disparate network domains, encompassing a 600+ user account base.
    • Designed and implemented Windows 2008/2010-2013 Active Directory domains in secure and often unique environments.
    • Administer NetApp filers, to include: creating and maintaining volumes, data snapshots, Oracle database backups, snapmirroring data, system hardware maintenance, etc.
    • Perform data backup and restoration by VMware and NetApp snapshots.
    • Build, configure, and maintain Windows Virtual Machines (VMs), and hardens and conducts patch management for Windows systems.
    • Implement and maintain multiple Microsoft WSUS Servers for automated security patches and update management
    • Manage VMware Virtual Center and cloning, migrating and creating snapshots of VMs
    • Implement and maintain several Windows DNS servers, and maintained and created Windows security groups and network file shares.
    • Establish and maintain trust relationships with external Windows domains, and perform maintenance and performance tuning to ensure health and optimization of all site Windows based servers, resolved complex Windows operating system and software application problems
    • Install, configure, and support numerous desktop and server based software applications
    • Ensure system integrity is maintained by deploying McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator servers and monitoring anti-virus software updates as well as Microsoft security patches and all Windows based clients and servers; deploy workstations with a standardized desktop load and other specialized software applications. Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues on various network topologies
    • Analyze system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems; introduce and integrate new technologies into existing data center environments.
    • Perform routine audit of systems and software; apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes; install and configure new hardware and software.
    • Add, remove, or update user account information, reset passwords, etc.
    • Answer technical queries and assist users; responsible for security of the system; responsible for documenting the configuration of the system; troubleshoot any reported problems; conduct system performance tuning; configure, add, and delete file systems; build new development, test and production environments utilizing Dell Blade servers and VMware; install and configure VMware ESX server on Dell Blades; install and configures VMware Infrastructure Server.
    • Build Active Directory Domain Servers; install and configure infrastructure related software such as DNS, McAfee EPO Servers, CENTRIFY, LDAP and Linux repositories for patching and updates; perform daily task of all virtual environments to include building new virtual machines, updating DNS and troubleshooting system problems; OS (Windows); create documentation for builds and upgrades; install and configure infrastructure applications and support integration with critical application environment.
    • Setup and configure VM client systems using VSAN, PURE storage or NETAPP; support Certification and Accreditation of Systems; Tier III support.
    • On call / Afterhours support


    Clearance Requirement:

    • TS/SCI with Polygraph

    Education and Experience Required: 

    • Shall have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g. Business Management, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Management, Program Management etc), or two (2) years of additional relevant experience above all experience requirements listed, in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
    • Must have Security + certification.
    • Shall have three (3) years of direct experience with and intelligence community or signals intelligence activity.
    • Shall have three (3) years experience in a technical leadership role, leading projects and programs for Government or Industry customers.
    • Shall have twelve (12) years in a technical role in projects and programs for Government or Industry customers.
    • During those twelve (12) years, shall have significant demonstrated experience in the following: Designing complex collection systems; integrating systems using multiple operating systems (Solaris, Linux, and Windows 2000); performing tradeoff studies; System performance analysis.
    • Shall have five (5) years experience as a Systems Engineer in programs that encompass system architecture, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation.
    • Shall have five (5) years experience in the following: Solaris, Linux, and Windows utilities and techniques to diagnose and correct performance bottlenecks.
    • Shall have seven (7) years experience developing, delivering, testing and supporting integrated hardware and software systems using recognized industry recognized process management; such as a CMMI Level 2 and above, or NSA Way process structure.
    • Shall have three (3) years direct experience with intelligence community or signals intelligence activity.
    • Experience in Agile methods is desired.
    • Experience in implementing solutions with PKI-controlled access is desired.
