  • Overview

    ProSync is seeking a System Engineer to serve as the Division STE POC/Lead and support with other systems engineering tasking as needed.

    Responsibilities

    Title of Position: System Engineer Level 1

      

    Description of Position:

    • Track all notifications of divergence from STE compliance along with new STE requirements as they are rolled out
    • Interact with Division Management to report status
    • Work with Division ISSOs and System Admins to make sure all requirements are met in a timely manner
    • Work with STE teams to identify gaps/issues as it pertains to the STE compliance verification process
    • Assist in engineering activities to transition/convert mission data flows from legacy systems to client modernized data flow architecture
    • Assess current data flow processes, define technical and process improvements to achieve increased mission efficiency, system performance, data quality and integrity, data minimization and legal compliance
    • Define and document Standard Operating Procedures, User Guides and Mission Processes in support of data flow mission activities and systems
    • Assess, document, and define new or improved decision logic and rule sets applied to data flow management
    • Assess and document current operational mission data flows and data flow configurations
    • Assemble and configure new flows on modern system
    • Define and document data flow changes in the new data flow managed baseline
    • Transition operational data flows from legacy system to new system
    • Test and verify new operational data flows and terminate legacy flows once transitioned
    • Assess and define technical requirements and processes for data flow and data quality monitoring, reporting and visualizations
    • Help monitor, assess and resolve data flow problems
    • Define requirements and recommend improvements to data flow management tools and processes
    • Create and maintain project documentation, presentations, tracking, tasking etc. in Microsoft Word, Visio, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Provide estimates of scope and timelines for engineering and architecture tasks and artifacts to team leads and customers
    • Coordinate with various development teams in TD and other mission stakeholders

    Qualifications

    Clearance Requirement:

    • TS/SCI with Polygraph
    • CCAs will be considered for this position

    Education and Experience Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
    • Seven (7) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity within the Federal Government is required.
    • Experience with mission systems related to data flows, data management or data repositories
    • Experience with definition, configuration, test or validation of system interfaces or data flows
    • Experience in defining and modeling business or system processes and workflows and identifying mechanisms and approaches for process improvement and/or automation
    • Experience and strong user level competence in the use of Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    Desired Skills:

    • Experience with mission systems related to data flows or data management**
    • Knowledge of general distributed processing methodology, cloud based architectures and technology
    • Experience with client’s SMART data efforts
    • Familiarity with Linux environment (i.e. Open Office)

    Must possess the following capabilities: 

    • Skills to support and sustain current and future lab, live/dev and operational systems: ability to install, kick, apply security patches and provide software loading on deployed hardware (Dell, HP, Cisco)
    • Ability to build (rack and stack), lab and live/dev systems (e.g. severs, blades, switch)
    • Administration skills for remotely deployed hardware/software
    • Experience with server hardening review/scripts to support deployment
    • Experience with ssh, bash, Linux (CentOS)
    • Experience with network hardware, administration and configuration, routing requirements, mission hosting, IP spreadsheets and allocation
    • Experience with domain name service, Network Time Protocols, enterprise messaging, and file forwarding service
    • Note: Experience – indicates ability to perform the above activities
