  • Overview

    Seeking an energetic, junior-level System Administrator to provide direct support in Linux, Windows, Network environments.


    Title of Position: System Administrator Level 1


    Description of Position:

    Windows Environment:

    • Create / update user accounts
    • Perform MacAfee Enterprise definition updates (frequently)
    • Verify all hosts are running MacAfee Virus are scanned (weekly)
    • Perform DTA functions, update drivers and SW as required
    • Verify systems are being patched in accordance to DOD requirements
    • Configure / keep track of all licensed SW
    • Perform / Maintain Backups for file servers
    • Work with users on basic support function

    LINUX Environment:

    • Work with Redhat Linux Team to maintain system security compliance
    • Work with PKI office to maintain PKI certificates
    • Create / Maintain system backups

    Network Environment:

    • Maintain Cisco / DLINK Firmware
    • Configure and maintain switch settings
    • Create / maintain Switch configuration files
    • Develop / Maintain VISIO network diagrams and publish updates
    • Perform switch installs / trouble shooting / repairs
    • Monitor / Configure IP Addresses and subnets
    • Create / Maintain repository for switch configurations

    SSP Requirements:

    • Work with System Owners to create and update SSP’s
    • Update IAVAS and DoD network notifications for system compliance
    • Update and keep current user monitoring, netflow and other security requirements
    • Work with ISSO/ISSE to obtain and maintain system accreditation


    Clearance Requirement:

    • TS/SCI with Polygraph
    • CCA will not be considered

    Education and Experience Required:

    • Five (5) years system administration experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is required. 
    • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
    • Experience with Windows, Linux, Networks, and SSPs
