  • Overview

    The Application Developer will collaborate with the development team and other IT staff to set specifications for new applications and have the ability to write high-quality code to complete applications on schedule. This position is pending contract award.


    Title of Position: Application Developer (DCO)


    Description of Position:

    • Understand client requirements and how they translate in application features
    • Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications
    • Design creative prototypes according to specifications
    • Write high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines
    • Perform unit and integration testing before launch
    • Conduct functional and non-functional testing
    • Troubleshoot and debug applications
    • Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
    • Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

    Normal operating core hours are Monday - Friday between 0600 and 1700, with potential flex time (rotational shift work or on-call duties). Must be available to work weekends and holidays, as required. 


    Clearance Requirement:

    • This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
    • T5 investigation required.
    Education and Experience Required:
    • Minimum experience: 10-12 years with a high school diploma, 8-10 years with an associate degree, 6-8 years with a bachelor's degree, or 4-6 years with a master's degree. A certificate may count as 1 year of experience.
    • Degrees must be relevant to the industry. Bachelor's in Computer Science or relevant field preferred.

    • Proven experience as application developer with excellent knowledge of Java and C++ programming languages and .Net environment.   Visual Studio, Eclipse, dual Linux and Windows Programming ability. 
    • Must be familiar with a variety of operating systems and platforms and have experience in designing and building applications.
    • In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools.
    • Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles.
    • A team player with excellent communication skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills are a must.
    • Experience working in a 24/7 environment, including shift work.
    • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification required.
    • DoD 8570.01-M required certifications: CSSP-IS and IAT II 

    • CE Certification (Microsoft, Redhat, CISCO, etc. or equivalent)

    • IT Level II (per Army AR-25-2)
    • ITIL® v3 Foundations Certified within first 3 months of hire
