Seeking candidate to serve as a software and system technical Configuration Manager providing support for the client’s mission capabilities.


Title of Position: Configuration Manager Level 2


Description of Position:

  • To serve as a software and system technical Configuration Manager providing support for the client’s mission capabilities.
  • Task activities include:  
    • Manage, maintain and evolve/mature the configuration management environment for hardware, servers and software product builds
    • Coordinate and track software and system staging, testing and integration activities with engineering team
    • Work independently; collaborate with software developers and system engineers to define and implement hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, such as creating product build scripts and procedures, and integrate those scripts with the hardware and software build process
    • Define and track multiple versions and instances of hardware platforms and software builds deployed worldwide, customized per unique site and customer requirements
    • Ensure hardware and software version control processes, policies and procedures are followed on hardware and software development projects
    • Coordinate defect tracking for both software and hardware with developers and lead system engineer
    • Plan build servicing for software products, server platforms and infrastructure
    • Manage and track hardware versions
    • Build software releases, remotely deploy software products across multiple diverse hardware platforms, infrastructures and networks


Education and Experience Required:

  • At least five (5) years Configuration Management experience working with both software and hardware configuration management
  • At least 3 years of experience with LINUX Operating System
  • At least 2 years of experience with scripting, in two or more of the following languages: (Bash, Python, C-Shell, JavaScript)
  • Experience with Atlassian Suite products and integrating them into development environment and processes
  • Experience with Subversion/SVN and SALT
  • Experience with DevOps CM, including continuous integration, configuration management of servers, infrastructure, and build servicing
  • Experience with GitLab, MADForge/GForge or a substantially equivalent system
  • Experience with one or more of the following build tools: AutoTools, ANT, Maven or similar tools
  • Experience defining, planning, configuring and implementing build servicing approaches
  • Experience integrating software packages, building software releases, and managing/coordinating software release deployments
  • Experience managing remote deployment modules and managing packages
  • Experience managing software version release and system version documentation, configuration management plans, processes and procedures
  • Experience managing defect tracking for systems and software, working with development teams to assign or plan defect resolutions into future releases
  • Experience successfully performing change control and configuration auditsDescribe
  • Familiarity working with Virtual Machine environments
  • Experience with Web Apps Deployment and Apache Tomcat
  • Experience with basic LINUX system administration functions
  • Experience setting up defect tracking approaches or tools
  • Experience working in an AGILE development environment
